Who we are and where we live

Nov 18, 2009
We want to start this blog thanking all the people that day by day give us their support, trust, and motivate us to go forward on this idea that we are realizing with lots of affection for the community of team fortress 2 around the world.

In this first post we want to explain who are we, where we from and why we are doing this.
Well first of all we from a Latin-American a country called Peru, is situated in the occidental part of south America, whose territory abuts the Pacific Ocean to the west and limits on the northeast with Ecuador, on the northeast with Colombia, in the East with brazil, and on the sought east with Bolivia and Chile

Our dear country in recent years has become a very attractive country for tourism and has captured the public gaze in the world, is so important that it has been mentioned in television series, films and others such as:

The episode on the Simpsons when they visit Machupichu

South Park episode ¨Pandemic¨, sudden rise in Peruvian flute bands.

Even Indiana Jones was in Peruvian lands on his last movie.

Well all this is only the start, Peru is a country with a very rich culture, so rich that some years ago our main monument of the Inca citadel Machupichu was named one of the 7 wonders of the world.

Well is here where we live, and here where our crazy idea begun to take our characters of our beloved game Team Fortress 2 to a circus.

Why a circus???? Have you ever ask your self’s, the truth is that we don’t know it, hahahaha, few months ago we were in a bar in Miraflores a place visit my Aldo and me, Aldo was telling me about and investigation that occurred to him about TF2, he was showing me the advances that he had realize changing the heavy for a bear, I found it very interesting what he was doing.

Some beers later he was telling me how he would like to change all the characters of team fortress to animals with the same skills as his predecessor, and form that way the TF2 animal pack.
…………………. An idea somewhat complex to make I thought inside……….
he also thought of what animals would be each class.

Few weeks later possibly in the same bar or some other near it, he showed me advances of the famous heavy bear, it was awesome he had advance lots. After a few weeks he told me that he had stop working on the bear, he did not had much time and that he had released it to the whole community so they could have it. He also found technical hurdles that had not been able to solve, is there when we decided to get together, and go forward with the project, like I told u guys before we got together in a bar and drank lots of beer, and in some moment of the conversation we said why not take the famous bear to a circus and make a circus map too, we liked the idea and we kept working on it. Then we realize that in a circus we could have more interesting characters, a magician, a clown, and acrobat, and others but the only animal would be a bear so we had to imprison the bear in a circus cage and start the TF2 Circus Expansion Pack.

Well that’s how the project started it at first we were only two. We started to comment our idea to more people our friends basically, and we had a good welcome, I remember that one night we were in a bar in barranco with Alex one of our best programmers we know, and told him about the idea, he ask me if he could join us, when he heard that Aldo and me couldn’t hold our laughs and though that if we going make games who better than an excellent programmer to be in the team.

And like that we start to get together in some bars and talk about the project and more people start it to join us, Michael, Jorge, Renzo, and that’s for now.

It is obvious that when a project without any funding or budget allocation ran the risk that at some point the energy and motivation fall, so we decided to make posts in each of the forums and now the comments that you guys do about our work is the fuel that feed us and force us to bring your next years beta of TF2 circus Expansion Pack finish.

For us it is a pleasure to continue working on this, thanks to you guys we are more organized, and with more energy to keep working in this project, a million thanks for your contributions and comments we are not going to disappoint you.
